¿What did Switzerland to solve their garbage problem?

Did you know, that the avarege of garbage produced by one person in a day is around 0,6 kg?
Did you know that Chile produce around 6.5 million tons of gabrabe each year?
Reycling now a days, is a big solution that many countries, like Chile are using to decrease the contamination that garbage produce in our cities, but many countries cant achieve it succesfully, so What did Switzerland to reach a 50% of the garbaged recycled?
This country develop a sistem, where trowing 5 kg of garbage costs 3 dollars, but recycling is free. Altough, reciclyng is not so easy, because you have to divide you trush very carefully, seprating plastics, from glass and paper very well done, for example, if you want to recycle a bag of tea, yo have to separate te organic waste, the thread and the paper part in different parts.
Many of you might be wondering, how does ths process really work with success, well i will tell you that they have a garbage police that is encharged that all the process gets along. They can charge you a fine over 10.000 dollars if you dont realize this process well.
From all te recicled garbage, Switzerland has created a new industry, that generate a lot of mony for the country, and creates a lot of new employments.
What do you think about this new industry, might it work in Chile? Because in our country, only a 10% of the garbage is recycled.

I didn't know about this policy of Switzerland. I think is very usefull and can help our planet. Chile produces too much garbage, actually our garbage dump in Santiago is collapsed and they have to make a knew one next to Til Til. Maybe if we apply this policy we can change the way chile produces garbage and start recycling.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think that the garbage issue currently happening in Til Til was VERY avoidable. It´s as easy as finding a place far away from human civilization. Besides that, we as chilean comunity should be aware of how much garbage we produce. Recycling is not that hard, now a days there are plenty of options to practice this, near our school and home. We just have to change our minds about this.
DeleteRecycling is one of the best ways to help the planet. To separate the garbage should be a responsability of every person. However not many people do it. This policy in Switzerland would be very useful in our country because Recycling is not part of our culture and its important that we create conscience about it.
ReplyDeleteWe don't take this theme seriously. Every time we throw away a plastic bottle to the garbage, throw it to a recycle container. It isn't very difficult, and one person will not do too much but if we all do it, we can make a change. We should adopt this policy for the good of the planet.
ReplyDeleteThis policy can make big changes in not only Chile but the world, because right now when you don't recicle you don't get any difference except for the feeling of saving the planet, but if we add to this feeling a money benefit people will be recycling like crazy
ReplyDeleteWe need to take action, it could be really helpful in the future and we need to make changes around the world. Every person should recycle, it should be taught in the house, it is easy and harmless, people should change the way they treat the planet and start caring about our beautiful world. It´s never too late to start a change, we can still do something for our planet.
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant! Switzerland did a great job coming up with this amazing idea that in my option if every country tries it it could help and save the planet of this horrible contamination of garbage. I think in Chile it would work perfectly! Congratulations to Switzerland!
ReplyDeleteThe difference between a developed country and an underdeveloped country is impressive. What switzerland does is incredible and is the only way to save the world. The pollution is slowly destroying the planet and if we continue this way we will lead to ruin. Put the batteries and recycle!
ReplyDeletei think that what Switzerland manage to do about their garbage problem is very good example of what every countrie should do, in their own cases obviously. But the problem goes further than the idea itself because the main problem are the citizens that they dont care about their surrounding and the enviorment. So no matter how good your idea or proyect is, if you dont get to change peoples thoughts is not going to work.
ReplyDeleteIt is very impressive what Switzerland did to solve their garbage problem, it is very important all over the world. I think that this great form applied in Switzerland would serve very well here in Chile because here tons of garbage are produced and people will not like having to pay for throwing the garbage and they will prefer to recycle and that will be something very good for Chile.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great example of what we should start doing to decrease contamination that garbage produce. This could be very helpful in the future. Maybe Chile is not prepared to introduce a sistem like this one, but we should start trying recycling, reusing and reducing from our home.
