Barcelona Attack
The past August 17 in Barcelona, Spain a terrorist attack took place. A rented vehicle sped along the pedestrian area "Las Ramblas", a highly conquered and touristic place, killing 13 random people (kids among them), leaving more than 80 people severely injured.
Witnesses said the van deliberately targeted people, weaving from side to side as it drove down the boulevard. One of the most shocking testimonies said that families screamed desperately because of the amount of kids there were.
Local police released a photo of a man whose documents were used to rent the van; Driss Oubakir, a Moroccan man in his 20's. Nevertheless, he says he is not involved in the attack, and that his documents were stolen.
The day before the incident, August 16, an explosion occured at a house outside Barcelona, and left one person dead. Authorities say this was connected to the "Las Ramblas" attack.
Spain's prime minister Mariano Rajoi Said it was a "Jihadist attack". Indeed, the Islamic State declared by its Amaq news agency that they were behind the attack, also that it was carried out by the "Islamic State soldiers".
Until now four people related to the attack have been arrested; Moussa Oukabir Soprano's (one of the principal suspects) elder brother whose name has not been revealed, as well as one of his friends. Also the van driver's brother whose name remains anonymous, and Mohammed Houli, a Moroccan man with 21 years of age, that got severely injured in Wednesday's explosion.
Two attacks in less than a week means a huge suffering to its victims and their country, this unfortunate situation has touched the whole world. Europe has been suffering way too much, and it is time to stop. Families are being destroyed, kids are being murdered, people are loosing their loved ones, all this war will end extinguishing societies, Siria and the middle east countries for example, and everything will be done by us. We have to stop spreading hate arround the world.

Time goes by and terrorism just does not go away. I cant even imagine what people are feeling right know in Barcelona, there is not any place safe in this moment. Terrorits didnt discriminate were to make their attacks. I think this situation needs realistic solutions and God´s help.

It is incredible the international tensions with terrorism. But you have to be careful how we take this because some people blame Muslims. But the truth is just a small extreme group where they want to put their ideas with terror.
ReplyDeleteThe people don't realize the damage they do to Muslims by blaming them for the atacks, is like saying that all women drive badly or that all Chinese people eat dogs!
ReplyDeletei hope all these attacks get over soon. The last years terrorists attacks are getting more frequently, they have to reach an agreement so this massives deads can stop soon.
